Q: How long has NWCI been providing
services for the landfill and environmental remediation industries?
A: In 1988, ConCover was developed by NWCI at the request of a hazardous waste
landfill in Michigan. Since that time, NWCI has refined and improved the ConCover
line resulting in a spectrum of cover materials and other products that are generally
accepted by regulatory agencies at the local, state and federal levels.
Q: What are ConCover and ProGuard?
A: Both ConCover and ProGuard are a patented combination of recycled newspaper
with proprietary mixtures of polymers and clays that result in nontoxic, non-hazardous
materials.
Q: How are ConCover and ProGuard different?
A: The difference between these products is the duration that each product remains
intact. ConCover 180 Foam will last 8-12 months; ConCover SW will last 3-6 months;
and ProGuard SB will last 7-10 days. All products suppress VOC's, radon gas, odor,
and dust. With the wide range of cover materials NWCI provides, one is sure to
fit your needs.
Q: Are ConCover and ProGuard
accepted by regulatory agencies?
A: Yes. ConCover is specified by many federal and state regulatory agencies, including:
the US Army Corp of Engineers, the Department of Energy, the US and state EPA,
and others. NWCI cover materials also meet the ASTM standards for alternate daily
cover including flammability and TCLP.
Q: Is application of the product
restricted by weather conditions?
A: No. The materials can be applied in a light to moderate rain, light to moderate
snow, in freezing temperatures, and on windy days.
Q: Does NWCI require a short
or long term contract?
A: No, NWCI has never required a contract. Sites can use our material for whatever
period necessary without signing a contract.
Q: Is "special" equipment required
to apply ConCover and ProGuard?
A: No. ConCover SW and ProGuard can be applied with any standard hydro-seeder.
ConCover 180 Foam, however, requires the use of the CAPS machine, which is available
for short or long-term lease, or for purchase.
Q: What is a ConCover All Purpose
Spray Machine (CAPS)?
A: The CAPS machine is a hydro-seeder specially designed for
NWCI. The major difference between a standard hydro-seeder and a CAPS machine is
the pump. (The progressing cavity pump is preferable in some cases because of
its durability and low incidence of repairs.)
Q: Can the equipment be purchased
as well as leased?
A: Yes, NWCI offers several lease and purchase options.
Q: Can NWCI provide an application
team if necessary?
A: Yes. NWCI can provide a qualified application team for short-term projects at
competitive rates.
Q: What additional products and
services are offered by NWCI?
A: NWCI offers products for litter control, odor control, dust and erosion control,
bird control and bioreaction augmentation. NWCI also develops solutions that are
site specific. NWCI prides itself on providing creative and innovative solutions
to environmental needs.
