BIRDHAZER Bird Aversion System from Birdtec
The BIRDHAZER
System controls birds by misting
the aversion material from a spray
unit upwind of the working face.
Microscopic droplets of the agent
float in the air and act as a powerful
repellent. Birds experience a painful
response when they come in contact
with as little as one molecule
of the aversion agent, yet the
haze is completely harmless to
humans.
BIRDHAZER spray units are placed
in key locations surrounding the
working face. They are typically
set back about 100 yards - out
of the way of the heavy equipment.
Units are placed so that the working
face is always covered despite
changes in wind direction.

The spray units are driven by compressed air, which is supplied through small, flexible plastic tubing that runs from a control trailer. The compact control trailer is a self-sufficient unit with a propane-powered compressor. It can be located up to 1000 yards from any spray unit.
The heads spray for 40 seconds
at 2-5 minute intervals. Once set,
the system is entirely automatic - there
is no need for an operator to attend
the control trailer.
The BIRDHAZER System can also mist
NWC's Odor Ranger odor control agent.
